Quick and secure delivery information with EDI and ASSA CIP

Electronic transmission of data between companies ERP systems (Enterprise resource planning) is nothing new. Unfortunately, the high investment costs and complicated systems has meant that small and medium-sized businesses for financial reasons could not take advantage of technology. ASSA ABLOY has developed a user-friendly and simple solution, ASSA CIP, which with its lower costs have opened the door for an EDI collaboration with many of ASSA OEMs, and ASSA AB's customers.

Today a number of large ASSA OEM customers deal via EDI, including Industribeslag, Byggbeslag, Svenssons i Tenhult och Jeld-Wen, and there are more to come.

With the help of EDI communicates the customers and ASSA OEMs business system with each other. An order confirmation will be submitted electronically and a confirmation goes out via EDI to the customer from ASSA OEM.

Facilitate for our customers

For the company  Industribeslag, it was an easy decision to accept the offer of EDI integration via ASSA’s ERP system. The combination of a reasonable investment cost and a well established and reliable partner made the conditions perfect for launching project.

"We chose Industribeslag as  it is an important and large customer that we wanted to cooperate with, "explains Theresa Boy Ekström in charge of EDI at ASSA OEM. We wish to get a better flow in the order process, but also make it easier for our customers. The information entered into the customers ERP system is transferred to us and therefore we save a few steps in the work process. "

EDI makes it easier for customers, as they do not have to order by e-mail or fax and they get a secure and timely order handing and they can provide their customers with faster delivery information. Yes, in the past one of us had to check that the part numbers and other information were correct, "says Theresa. Thanks to EDI, there will be time savings for all parties and the quality of the supplies will be significantly higher as we reduce the risk of errors in article numbers, prices and delivery time. "

Easy Collaboration

As soon as ASSA OEM have sent the order confirmation, your order goes into production, or directly to shipping if there is a stock item. When goods are delivered, billing is also included in the system, which also means time savings and safer handling. Reduced postage use and reduced environmental impact are other advantages.

"Since our start-up meeting, everything has gone very smoothly and we have received good help from ASSA OEM to get started. Now, EDI is used by more customers and it will be interesting to follow the practical work "says Åke Andersson from Industribeslag.

"It's been very easy to work with Industribeslag, who have been very dedicated and driven from their side," says Theresa. Our mutual interest has made our EDI collaboration easy to enforce. "
